3D International has released a product for offline conversion of stereo contents to 2D+depth and multi-view formats.

Most important Key features of this software master piece:
    • Disparity map generation from stereo pair footage
    • Fast simple view interpolation (This feature can not only be used to interpolate stereo views, but also allows to spread e.g. 5 to 8 views)
    • Disparity map based view inter- & extrapolation (up to 32 views)
    • View Rectification (requires calibration pattern footage)
    • Operates with 32bit per channel depending on source footage
    • Selectable color space (RGB & YUV)
    • 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 working resolutions available for additional Speed/Quality gain

"With this product, we introduce a highly interesting application to the market." says Alexander Schmidt, Managing Director of 3D International Europe GmbH and Group CTO. "The demand for such functionality was rapidly growing as this software allows to bridge existing stereo content to the world of auto-stereoscopy. We have been focusing fully on image quality with this product and are about to file 3 patents on the underlying algorithms."

With its powerful image conversion algorithms, the software also allows to re-arrange the depth value in pure stereo footage, i.e. z-correct compositing.

The stereo tools, like nearly any other software by 3D International, can be downloaded and tested for free for a 14 days trial period.

Note: All 3D International software under the brand "VisuMotion" does not only support 3D International displays, but rather a full range of glasses-free 3D and glasses-based displays. Hence, the software is also an option for users that make use of 3rd party 3D-displays. The software currently supports more than 80 different 3D screens by more than 20 makers.
