setting up 3D with laptop

    I bought an LG 3D HDTV and am trying to use my alienware laptop to play 3D on it. I have a GT 650m graphics card and using cyberlink powerDVD 11.
    it works on on when I have the TV convert 2D to 3D, nothing spectacular but it's ok. however if I use a 3D blue ray and set up from cyberlink to play 3D it looks horrible on the HDTV.
    I am using an HDMI cable and I don't know if it is high speed, but also don't know if this would be possible reason for this. any suggestions?
