    hello,

PANASONIC TO SHOW OFF ITS 3D TV SYSTEM AT OLYMMPICS

Panasonic is making the most of its Winter Olympics partnership by demonstrating its latest 3D television technology at its Vancouver pavilion beginning today (Friday). The company announced that the Panasonic Full HD 3D Theatre will employ two 103-inch screens that will display footage of the opening ceremony and highlights of the competitions. Panasonic's 3D process does away with the tinted glasses ordinarily used for 3D TV viewing, a system that many viewers regard as inferior to theatrical 3D presentations. Instead it requires special eyewear in which a shutter system, synchronized with the monitor, provides separate images to each eye 60 times per second. In a statement, Takumi Kajisha, Panasonic's managing executive officer, predicted that the system on display in Vancouver will one day become part of home theaters. "Panasonic believes 3D systems will greatly enhance at-home viewing of future Olympic Games," he said, "combining the enjoyment of watching the greatest sports event with the stereoscopic images of full HD 3D."
