Panasonic's deal with AVATAR in 3D

    The only way you'll be able to get the DVD of the film Avatar 3D is if you buy certain models of Panasonic's 3D televisions. Panasonic has a 1 year contract with the film maker. I suppose the only other way you'll be able to get a 3D copy is, perhaps, on eBay and probably at a premium price! :mad:

    One hour later added note: On eBay, factory sealed 3D DVD's of Avatar are being auctioned off anywhere from $88.00 to $435.00. Where the sellers are getting them from is anyone's guess.

    There will inevitably be some promotional tie-ins between Hollywood and the TV manufacturers. However, this can't last for long. If this format is going to become a regular "thing", there will have to be some industry standards which everyone will adopt. We can't have several systems competing like this; one of them will eventually win out.
