There are samples of new 2D to 3D auto-converted movie traillers for downloading, included are 3D half sbs, projector 3D interlaced, 3D color anaglyph, three kinds.

These are the proofs of limited feasibilities of 2D to 3D auto-converting, but personally, I prefer the shaking heart 2D movies (as "Leap Year") to poor contents of 3D movies, especially the poor 3D effects of cheating 2D to 3D converted 3D movies.

The key to compare 2D and 3D movies is the same to compare monochrome and color movies. Some works are made focused in the technological limitations. Some examples. 3D are harder than 2D to our eyes and brain, since we need to detect the depth, so the 3D movies are slower. If the camera in 2D didn't worry about the depth, the 3D conversion will suffer like colorize a coal mine. The 2D movies don't care about things appearing out of the TV or particles to create a involving environment.
