How to increase S3D parallax in After Effects

    In this post I’ll show you how to easily increase the parallax of captured S3D footage using YUVsoft Depth from Stereo Lite and Parallax Corrector plug-ins for Adobe After Effects.

    Below is an initial stereo image:

    Start by applying the Depth from Stereo plug-in to obtain a disparity map (shown below) for the initial stereo.

    Next, use the Parallax Corrector plug-in to double the parallax value. Here is the result:

    The tools used in this example are part of Stereo Processing Suite Lite—a set of Adobe After Effects plug-ins for 3D-video correction. A free trial version is available at the YUVsoft website. Prices for individual tools start at $149.
