desperateBeauty - 'Strategies' 3D music video (GH2, BMPCC, BMMCC)

Hi guys,

I'm one-man band 'desperateBeauty'. I've just released my own 3D music video for my début single 'Strategies':



The 3D version is in red/cyan anaglyph (there's a 2D version too, with colours as they were intended).

I shot & edited the video myself over 7 years on 3 different DIY dual-camera rigs, and it was processed entirely (from the stereo alignment right through the colouring and FX) with my own software LumaChroma-3D-.

My camera rigs all used my own custom electronics and software. The cams were:

2 x Panasonic GH2 (using simultaneous power-up to approach sync, but no way to test)
2 x BMD Pocket Cinema Camera (simul-power again, but with custom sync tester to verify <1ms sync)
2 x BMD Micro Cinema Camera (with genlock sync).

The least one is also my current rig. As it has no screen, I wrote my own PC software 'LazyEyes' for it that can preview both feeds together (including in anaglyph). It can also remote control every camera parameter from a mouse or touchscreen (automatically applied to both bodies together).


I've submitted the video to the LA-3D 3D movie festival, so hopefully it will be screened in the Downtown Independent Theatre in Los Angeles December 15-16, 2018: www.LA3DFest.com

A 3 min excerpt will also screen as the 3D Theatre session of the Stereoscopic Displays and Applications 2019 conference, January 14-16, 2019 in the San Francisco area (a part of the Electronic Imaging symposium):
