Cross eye method ..an acquired skill?

    I get the theory for the cross eye viewing method but have been unsuccessful
    has any one have an experience they like to share with this?

    Hi Nathan, welcome to the forums :)

    I've not been very sucessful at getting the cross eye method to work well either, however my girlfriend can get it to work almost instantly, and she puts it down to practice.

    Practice makes perfect as they say, although some people do seem pre-disposed to finding it easier it seems.

    Hi Nathan

    Funnily enough I had half my office trying to see those magic eye (Auto stereoscopic) Pictures just yesterday. I can see them after a little bit of purposefully diverging my eyes and then letting them re-focus, but no one else in my office could see them. I believe there is something to the Practice idea but I also think some peoples brains just can’t process the depth cues hidden in the image.

    cross-eye viewing

    Hi Nathan, I have often tried the cross-eyed method without success. Having been making stereocards for many years, I find the parallel viewing method very easy to learn for free viewing. So long as the centre points of the L and R pictures are no further than 2.5" apart it is easy to achieve the 3D effect with very little practice.
