blu-ray to dvd9 then from laptop through hdmi to 3d tv?

    so basically what i am trying to accomplish here is to take a SBS Blu-Ray 3D movie... burn it to dvd9... play it through my laptop and send the picture to my 3D tv via 3d ready hdmi cable. can this be done? i took the blu-ray and converted it to .vob and burned it to a dual layer dvd and it plays in my dvd player but the tv doesnt see any 3d content and wont let me switch to SBS 3D mode... so i got TotalMedia Theatre 5 but the video freezes up and only the sound plays... is totalmedia for reading Blu-Ray in a dvd drive? im so lost here and i really dont want to have to buy a 3D Blu-Ray player... Can anyone clear this up for me?

    it will play on Windows Media Player as well...
