    Hello,

    I own a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 3D TV. I own a receiver that's not 1.4 HDMI or "3D ready"

I have all my devices (TV, DVR, PS3, etc) connected to the receiver. I'm able to get 3D content from movies I've downloaded and playing off the PS3. I seem to get the full effect, so why am I told I need to buy a 3D capable receiver?

If you use SBS then the TV just stretches the images appropriately.

For frame-packed 3d the receiver needs to know how to process it, and pass through the higher bandwidth required by the frame-packed method.
