    This new course will provide training for camera assistants so that they are successfully able to work with stereoscopic 3D. Participants will leave the course with a comprehensive knowledge of the equipment used when shooting 3D and how it relates to their role. They will also be fully trained in how to spot when 3D is working successfully.

    The course is a three-day, largely practical workshop where participants will work with 3D cameras, monitors and rigs in a studio, shooting various scenes in 3D to learn what is required of them on a 3D set. Each participant will have a chance to practice with the equipment using a purpose-built set and actors.

    Course Aims & Objectives:
    • To teach camera assistants their role on a stereoscopic 3D set
    • To understand how S3D changes their job
    • To gain an understanding of the difference between 2D and

    By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
    • Understand the basics of stereographic 3D
    • Work as a camera assistant on a 3D set
    • Understand the qualitative differences between 2D and S3D
