do you know softwares that help in the creation of a zmap from a single photography? I m sure there is no automatic process , but is there some softwares that ease the process thanks , see you.
Z Map I use Photoshop and Gimp. Gimp is freeware, available on most platforms and quite easy to use. When I create z maps, I create a new layer for each part of the image. A part can be anything, like a mountain, person, tree, arm or whatever that needs to be separated from the others. I use the freehand and/or the magic wand-thing to select the parts, create the new layers based on these. I fill the part with the shade of gray I think is right. Finally I merge the visible layers and apply a strong blur to the result. Without the blurring, I often get the "cardboard"-effect. Hope this helped
Hi As long as i digg in 3d, there is no auto z-buffer plugin for one image source. I heard about some test of wicked laser and radiowave based z-bufer cameras from VR21 company Personaly i use separate channels in photoshop for specific depth information. cheers
thanks , for the replies guys , i was nearly sure that there were no plug in or tools who can ease the process . Are they some of you that work on create zmap for videos? any workaround to share? see you.
There are several universities working on this idea and a couple commercial companies. See; http://make3d.stanford.edu/ . I think MIT or NYU had something going too but I can't find it right now. for painting or creating a depth map see; http://zenratai.com/software/stereopaint_esp/index.htm http://www.texnai.co.jp/eng/stereo3D/StPaint/index.html http://lenticular.rrd.com/wwwLenticular/3DLenticular.asp
