How can I take 3D game screenshots?

I'd like to try and take some screenshots when I am in-game so that I can create a slideshow of the best moments. Is there a way I can do this easily or do I need to buy extra software?

I am using a GeForce 8800GTS and Windows 7. If you need any more information just let me know
